Photography FAQs

  • I don’t use a standard rate sheet, as every project is unique and fixed pricing allows for more flexibility and creativity. I typically quote per project to ensure the scope, goals, and value are fully considered—so we can focus on creating something great, not just counting hours.

  • Yes, I have a studio in the Bay Park neighborhood of San Diego, CA.

  • Yes. I am available to travel.

  • My availability varies depending on current bookings, but I typically recommend scheduling at least 1–3 weeks in advance. That said, I understand timelines can shift and do my best to accommodate tighter timelines when possible. Sometimes, I have last-minute openings, so feel free to share your ideal date(s) or project deadline, and I’ll let you know what’s possible!

  • While I can absolutely handle shoots solo, I typically work with a team depending on the scope and complexity of the project. For larger productions, I collaborate with assistants, stylists, makeup artists, and sometimes even a production coordinator to ensure everything runs smoothly and that we meet all creative and logistical goals. I believe in assembling the right team for each shoot—whether that’s a small crew for an intimate session or a larger team for a full-scale production. Having the right support allows me to focus on the creative direction and ensure the final product exceeds expectations.

  • I'm flexible. I’ve worked on retainers, project-based contracts, and a variety of other setups. Let’s discuss your needs—I’m confident we can find the right arrangement.

  • I manage timelines by setting clear expectations from the start. Once we align on the scope of the project, I outline key milestones and delivery dates so everyone’s on the same page. I keep communication open throughout the process to flag any updates or adjustments as needed. Because I take on a limited number of projects at a time, I’m able to stay focused, meet deadlines reliably, and ensure each project gets the attention it deserves.

  • My process from concept to delivery is structured yet flexible to meet the unique needs of each project. It usually starts with an initial consultation where I get a clear understanding of the client's vision, goals, and any specific requirements. From there, I develop a concept, mood board, or shot list, ensuring we’re aligned on the creative direction.

Next, I handle the pre-production details—securing locations, coordinating with the necessary team members, and organizing any equipment or props needed. On shoot day, I manage everything from setting up to capturing the shots, ensuring the client’s vision comes to life.

After the shoot, I move into post-production, where I meticulously edit and retouch the images or videos to enhance their quality while maintaining the intended look and feel. Throughout the entire process, I maintain clear communication with the client, providing updates and seeking feedback to ensure the final product is exactly what they envisioned.

Finally, once the project is complete, I deliver the final assets in the requested format, making sure the client has everything they need for both digital and print use.

  • My approach to photo editing is focused on enhancing the natural beauty of each image while maintaining an authentic, true-to-life appearance. I apply minimal yet precise adjustments to ensure proper lighting, color balance, and sharpness without over-editing. This keeps the final result clean, professional, and reflective of your brand’s unique style, ensuring your products or portraits look polished while retaining their natural essence.

  • Yes, I work closely with clients to develop creative concepts and can coordinate styling as needed. I also collaborate with some of the top hair, makeup, and wardrobe stylists in San Diego, so I’m always happy to provide trusted recommendations to help bring your vision to life.

  • I always start with a clear understanding of the creative vision and logistical needs of the shoot—whether it's lighting requirements, space for crew, or specific architectural or environmental features. From there, I research and scout locations that align both aesthetically and practically. I often visit sites in person to assess natural light, accessibility, and potential challenges.

If permits are required, I handle that process directly—working with local authorities, property managers, or film offices to ensure everything is secured in advance. I also keep an eye on insurance needs and any local regulations to make sure the production runs smoothly and legally. My goal is always to minimize surprises and make shoot days as seamless as possible.

  • When weather or other unforeseen issues cause delays, I stay flexible and proactive. I always have a backup plan in place, which may involve adjusting the shooting schedule or moving the shoot to an indoor location if needed. I keep open communication with the client and the team to ensure everyone is informed and on the same page. If the delay is significant, I reassess the timeline and work with the client to find the best way forward—whether it means rescheduling or adapting the shoot to fit new conditions. Ultimately, the goal is to keep the project on track while maintaining the creative vision. I aim to minimize disruptions by staying organized and solution-focused.

  • The length of post-production depends on the complexity of the project and the amount of content being worked with. For smaller, straightforward shoots, such as a product or headshot session, post-production might take anywhere from a few days to a week. For more extensive projects, like a lifestyle or brand shoot with multiple setups, retouching, and color grading, it could take a couple of weeks. I always aim to deliver high-quality work within the agreed-upon timeline, but I also ensure there’s room for revisions if needed. I keep clients in the loop during the process to ensure everything meets expectations. Having a clear workflow and understanding of project needs upfront helps ensure we stay on track and efficient throughout post-production.
